Now in our Artillery and Limbers 28mm range, a customer-top-requested new cannon, and what a cannon it is! An experimental 18th Century Russian design which we think no one else has created in 28mm scale. Great for historical use, and also for Flintloque and Slaughterloo, we present the Olonet 'three in a row'.

Olonet Cannon

59548 – Olonet Cannon

An artillery piece with a rectangular barrel made to fit a wooden tray with three 3lb cannon balls. When assembled, it is 50mm long and 30mm across. Made of resin and metal in three pieces. It joins our array of cannons, howitzers, mortars, limbers and more.

Olonet Cannon

This is an actual 28mm creation based on a real cannon in Russia. In the 18th Century, the history of Russian artillery is characterized with working out many experimental patterns for artillery guns that were offered for adoption in the army. Russian artillerists tried to solve problems of increasing the firing rate and firepower of guns. An interesting sample of such systems is the 3lb experimental cast-iron cannon with a rectangular barrel bore cast in Olonets in 1722. It was intended for firing three three-pound balls, which were wrapped round with linen and placed in one row on a wooden tray.

Undead Limber Team

Rules for Flintloque and Slaughterloo

When using this gun in 5030 Slaughterloo, it may only be fielded by the Undead of the Witchlands, and a maximum of one per Division on the table with no forming of Batteries. It is a LIGHT FIELD GUN with its stats and costs. However, when firing at Light Infantry or other dispersed targets as per the rules, it has no negative modifier, rather a +1. It may not fire over the heads of troops at any time. At Short Range, it gains a +2 modifier. It may not fire at Long Range. This is an odd cannon which is much better close in.

When using this gun in Flintloque (see 5025 Death in the Snow and 5027 Grapeshotte), it is a Medium Artillery Piece (4 Crew) used by the Undead of the Witchlands only, and there may only be one on the table. It takes 9 Load Step Tokens to load. In terms of cost and function, see page 37 of Grapeshotte and the Imperiale Trois three-barrel cannon. Same function but Roundshotte only as per page 29 6lb Field Gun for stats.
