Tribute to Bob Coggins

Had many conversations with him over drinks at the bar in the Lancaster Host. Always looked forward to seeing him at Historicon. Had not been down there in a number of years so it's been awhile. Bob was one of the few people who could carry off wearing a blazer and ascot. Another wargaming stalwart has passed on. As many of you have said, he'll be missed.

We have witnessed the passing of an era. To our great sorrow, Bob Coggins, joint author of Napoleon's Battles, passed away last week and will be sadly missed by everyone who had the fortune to meet him or be associated with his masterpiece – Napoleon's Battles.

Capitan Games in Spain and the U.K. will be working to ensure the survival of Napoleon's Battles and Bob's legacy to the world of wargames. And his never-published rules, Frederick's Battles.

It is a great shame that Bob will not be present to witness the event, but we suspect he will be keeping a close eye on proceedings. We shall miss you, Bob, and so we send our condolences to your family and wish them joy in your memory.
