August 1984, after tensions rise, the unthinkable has happened! World War III has started with the Soviet invasion of West Germany. Berlin is surrounded and left to its fate with no possibility of being relieved or replenished, the units stationed in Berlin are in the fight of their lives as they are attacked on all sides by the East German Grenztruppen (Border Guards). Desperate city fighting ensues.
Take command of either British or East German forces in street-to-street fighting in Berlin. Each model represents one model, and each side fields sections, with a platoon being the largest force fielded (though a company is do-able, just rather large and may require more than two players!). Each model can move and fight, with a simple wounding system. Tanks are formidable beasts, but can still be brought to their knees by rocket launchers and skill full tactics.
This title is fully compatible with all other titles produced by Rooksdown Games and written by Dean Wilson; so any title can be used in conjunction with this book, bringing your games of WWIII to a new level.
Six unique cityfight scenarios are included, as well as full army lists for the (U.K.) Berlin Brigade, including stats for the FV432/30 with 30mm Fox A/C Turret and for the East German Grenz. Regt. with BTR-152s, T-55AMs and UAZ jeeps with RPG-11 recoilless rifles.
The rules represented here can easily be adapted for fighting in Faluja during Gulf War Mk.II and bitter compound fighting in Afghanistan. They could also be used for Vietnam (though a separate Vietnam skirmish ruleset is in development: Tet '68). Coming soon will be further scenario books for Berlin '84, including a supplement for Afghanistan and Iraq.
