Soviet Guards vs German Panzers: Poland, August 1944

After the 3rd Guards Tank Army crossed the Vistula River near Annopol, it was met by strong German counter-attacks. By 16 August, the German attacks had petered out, leaving the Soviets in control of Annopol and the surrounding area. Had the German counter-attacks succeeded, the Soviet attacks into Poland would have stalled.

Can the Germans change history by eradicating the Soviet bridgehead? Or will the Soviet Army secure its hold and drive deeper into Poland?
