Interesting, I tend to agree with the comments about the proposal lacking figure lists and even some pictures of greens or failing that some sketches/concept art of figures – some of the home grown Matchlock figures have a limited number of poses (see their War of 1812 or Forgotten Fronts ranges for example). In addition the kickstarter subs deal in multiples of 25 figures so does this imply the scheme only includes infantry at this stage? The phrase 'complete range' is a little nebulous wth some parameters being set.

On the other hand this is Caliver's first kickstarter project so I guess they are still learning. Given the initial target is an apparently modest £5,000.00 GBP that does not seem like a large sum for a 28mm range (of course it depends what is in the range!). Presumably the Partizan Press book on the uniforms of the Pacific War will be the main reference source which would be a good starting point. I suppose it is a good way for the Caliver/Matchlock/Partizan 'empire' to assess what level of support/demand for such a range.

Your chance to see what you want in miniature – starting with the Pacific War in 28mm

Matchlock Miniatures may seem like an old dinosaur, but we're always keen to try out new tech favored by the youth of today!

No doubt you've all heard about the success a lot of companies have with Kickstarter schemes, so now that Kickstarter is available to U.K.-based companies, we decided to give it go.

Obviously an old-established company like Caliver Books/Partizan Press/Miniature Figurines/Matchlock Miniatures doesn't need the money to start a project of its own, as we have more than enough projects to be getting on with.

Therein lies the problem – we do have too many projects to get on with. Almost every day, we get emails and phone calls from customers asking us to produce the most obscure periods in the oddest of scales, offering to buy things, but not following through when we produce that range!

So now is your chance to put your money where your mouth is – over the next couple of weeks, there will be a series of projects for you to vote on and pledge your support for.

The link below will take you to our first Kickstarter scheme – which is the Pacific War 1879-1884 in 28mm – and you can get a feel for what's involved.
