Hi GGouveia, I'd love to hear what you think of it -- it's on my "To Get" list but I'd like to see a review from someone who isn't familiar with the Osprey "Ronin" rules the En Garde game is based on.

The new wargame from Osprey games is En Garde!,, a Renaissance skirmish ruleset.

En Garde!

In their words:

En Garde! is a small-scale skirmish game based on the successful Ronin rules, in which small groups of warriors fight each other for honor or riches. Rather than just rolling a few dice, the rules allow players to make tactical decisions about how the models that they control will fight – offensively, defensively, or by applying special skills and abilities. En Garde! covers the conflicts of the 16th, 17th and early 18th centuries, when black-powder weapons started to become common in battle but martial prowess still determined the outcome.

We are not making a licensed range of figures for this book. But what we are doing is adding to our North Star 1672 range, the Armies and Enemies of Louis XIV.

Gabs

Louis XIV reformed the King's Musketeers during his reign, and employed their famous Captain, D'Artagnan, to lead them.

Musketeers

We have released a first pack of King's Musketeers, with more skirmishing figures for En Garde! to follow.

Musketeers

We are also giving a way a figure of D'Artagnan in 1672 away free with every copy of En Garde!

We have contributed an article to Wargames Illustrated 341, out in February, that allows you to refight D'Artagnan's last action at the Siege of Maastricht 1673 using En Garde!

The four army lists for this game are not in the article, we posted them in our online magazine, you can see them there now.
