After much requesting by players, these rules are now available as a PDF too. That should make it more convenient for overseas buyers.

Pieces of Eight

These rules are not generic sailing-ship bashing. They concentrate on the historical fights between small pirate/buccaneer ship groups attacking convoys and merchantmen. They play on a hex cloth (5 x 3 feet). One player is the buccaneer and the other the merchant convoy. These rules are mapped out historically. The rules create a new scenario for each game.

Ideally, the rules use the Peter Pig 1:450th range of small warships and merchant ship. These ships are made of metal, and feature tactile masts for good game play.

This ship range is 20 years old, but still superbly suited to wargaming. The original ships have fought battles at shows in the U.S., Europe, and U.K. at over 50 shows. They have survived 20 years of hard gaming and remain unbroken (so far!). That is a good product!

The rules are still available in our trademark lay-flat, wirebound physical version, too.

This new PDF version features three books:

  1. The Sea Fight
  2. The Land Raid
  3. The Campaign

These are great games, enjoyed very much by those that have played.

Full descriptions and details of these games is on the PP website.

Thanks!
