Custom Card Cost Point Buy System

This is just an attempt at a system to figure out how to calculate the cost of custom Heroscape units.

We have made over 40 custom units for various scenarios and battles. Including Marvel Heroes, DC Heroes, Shield, Hydra, Kraken, Justice League, Legion of Doom, dinosaurs, Star Wars, Aliens, troopers, pirates, androids, etc. We normally just kind of guess at it, based on existing cards and on our play experience. But now we are trying to get a specific formula.

If you like it, great; if not, that is OK as well. Just figured we would put it up for others to use. Go with what you think is good and playtest it, just have fun with it. And as always, Have a Great Game.

The download includes a spreadsheet which has a card cost calculator, you just input the information for your card and it calculates the cost for you based on the formula. The calculator updates on the fly, so you can see how changes to the card stats affect the card cost. It also has a sheet with a list of official special abilities.

By the way, we do not use order markers… (this is explained on the bottom of the formula document).

The video is a battle we had with official Heroscape units, Star Wars minis, and walkers/turrets/buildings made from stuff in the garage… all of which had army cards we made.
