Fidelis Models writes:

Now that Roco Minitanks has ceased production, what are we going to do? Don't despair, Fidelis Models has you covered. Fidelis Models carries over 20 lines of HO 1:87 scale military vehicles from all over the world. So you can continue to collect HO scale military vehicles for decades to come. We will take a quick over view of a few of them.

Paul Heiser Models are wonderful, easy-to-assemble resin kits of World War Two subjects. These are hand-cast kits, made in the U.S.A. They are not mass-produced, so they often don't stay in stock long. So if there is one you see in the Fidelis Models website that you like, grab it right away. Heiser Models also makes a small range of three different injection-molded plastic Sherman tank kits. These are much more accurate and more detailed than the old Roco kit, highly recommended, and easy to build.

SDV Models are a treat. Every Warsaw Pact armored vehicle you ever wanted is likely here in the SDV line someplace. Their line of Cold War and Modern Eastern European armored vehicles is extensive, and best of all, they are injection-molded plastic kits, not resin! They are limited-run, and their selection varies from time to time. The quality of the parts is not as high as some of the larger manufacturers, but the finished products are great! They are perfect for wargaming or for dioramas.

Trident Models are the old standby in the event Roco did not make something we wanted. Well, Trident is still going strong and making some of the finest quality injection-molded kits on the market. They make a huge range, and have done many of those World War Two era vehicles that Roco missed out on. They have the Panzer III, not just one, but a series of them. They have the SdKfz 251 halftracks in many versions, and it's little brother – the SdKfz 250 halftrack as well.

Hauler from Czechoslovakia makes a highly detailed range of premium resin models, many are World War Two German, and a number of them are railway vehicles. Steyr K-2670 Panzer Draisine is a railway car that is self-propelled and is used to patrol the railways and look for partisan activity. These make great stand-alone kits or can be combined into small anti-partisan trains. These resin kits are for the experienced model builder, but can be built using the same tools and paints as regular model kits.

Then once you've got all the models you can use, it's time to upgrade with Schatton Model products. They are producers of fine brass and aluminum and resin parts for the ultimate in detail. If you build models for display, for diorama, if you like the best detail possible, then get a new gun barrel from Schatton Models to complete your kit.

Model

Fidelis Models still has many Roco Minitanks vehicles and accessories in stock ready to ship. And if you still can't find the Roco you need, Fidelis Models offers fine used vehicles that are less expensive than new. Roco are built well and with a little care can last a lifetime, so buying used is an excellent opportunity to pick up a good vehicle for a good price.

Happy Model Building!
