Mark your calendars for November 2-3-4, 2012, as Colonial gamers gather once again for some first-rate TSATF miniature gaming.
This year, we are expanding our selection to include other rules by designer Larry Brom (Chassepot and Needlegun, A Glint of Bayonets, Disperse, Ye Damned Rebels and many others) that encourage Big Battles. We have also added an additional room for gaming.
Colonial Barracks 2012 will still be at the Sheraton Metairie-New Orleans Hotel in Metairie, Louisiana. The hotel site is taking reservations, and the rooms are once again $89.00 USD per night.
Registration for Colonial Barracks can be found at Convention Registration.
The convention officially opens on Friday, November 2, with registration starting at 9:00AM and games beginning at 2PM. But we will be there Thursday, November 1, at 6:00PM for vendor and gamemaster load-ins, and, of course, there will be many old and new friends to meet up with again.
These games, all using rules by Larry Brom, are under consideration. They should have room for eight to twelve players (four to six per side), and probably two gamemasters to insure they move swiftly and smoothly:
- American Revolution
- Disperse, Ye Damned Rebels!
- Napoleonic
- Before I Was a Marshal, I Was a Grenadier – battalion level, convention rules from 1960s
The Sound of the Guns – battalion level - American Civil War
- Glint of Bayonets – brigade/regimental
Bring Up the Guns – (fast-play rules for conventions, various periods) - Franco-Prussian War
- Chassepot and Needlegun
- Victorian Colonial
- 800 Fighting Englishmen
To the Gates of Peking (Boxer Rebellion)
And then we have "tried and true" TSATF and some of its variants:
The Sword and the Flame – Victorian Colonial warfare
Flames in the Punjab – Sikh Wars
The Sword and the Pike – European Renaissance
The Sword, the Cross, and Gold – Spanish Conquistadors in Aztecan Mexico
The Sword in India – the Indian Mutiny
The Sword in Mexico – Maximillian's intervention
The Sword in the Caribbean – the "Golden Age" of piracy
The Sword in the Forest – French and Indian War
The Sword in the Philippines – the Moro Rebellion
The Sword to Adventure – 1908-1931 "Back of Beyond"
The Sword in Africa – smaller unit action in Darkest Africa
Bugles, Boots, & Saddles – Indian wars in the American West
With Ol' Gimlet Eye (U.S.M.C. in Nicaragua)
As soon as we decide which games will be played, we'll post them here. Please let the above list act as an inspiration to you GMs who haven't made your decisions yet
