Firestorm Campaign

The team at Battlefront have been running their Team Yankee Firestorm: Red Thunder Campaign for a few weeks now, and whilst the Soviet players have been making some swift advances into Western Germany, the NATO allies have been working hard as well.

Have you been keeping an eye on the campaign and all the action? If not, here is a summary of where things are at now.

Firestorm Campaign

Intelligence sources have released information that a number of senior Soviet commanders have been recalled to Moscow. Whether this is for a conference to discuss restarting the stalled offensive in Germany, or if this signals wholesale changes in the command structure is still unclear.

Both NATO and Warsaw Pact forces have responded quickly and strongly to the recent offensives in Germany, slowing the recent Blitzkrieg advances to a crawl. Some experts are suggesting that the war is about to enter a stalemate phase leading to hope that an end to hostilities can be negotiated.

Other sources are citing the call up of reservists and waves of volunteers, along with mobilization of industry to produce war materials, as evidence that the war will continue for quite some time yet.

Firestorm Campaign

Meanwhile, steadily-lengthening lists of missing and dead, along with a lack of detail about the progress of the advance in official reports have led to speculation that things are not progressing, as well as they are being presented.
