Army Lists

These lists are for the NATO and Warsaw pack forces on the European front at battalion battlegroup level, and cover:

32. Canadian Mechanised Battalion
32A Canadian Reconnaissance Squadron
33. Czechoslovakian Tank Battalion Battlegroup
33A. Czechoslovakian Motor rifle company Battlegroup
34. Dutch Armoured Battalion Battlegroup
34A. Dutch Long Range Reconnaissance company
35. French Armoured Regimental Battlegroup
35A. French French Light Armoured Company
36. German Democratic Republic Mechanized Rifle Infantry Company Battlegroup
36A. German Democratic Republic Tank Battalion Battlegroup
37. Italian Armoured Battalion
37A. Italian Mechanised Infantry Company Battlegroup
38. Polish Armoured battalion Battlegroup
39. Turkish Mechanised Infantry Battalion Battlegroup

These lists go up to battalion battlegroup level, occasionally where necessary, we have attached out higher level units for you so that it is much easier and quicker to build a force for an evening game be it battalion, company group, or a platoon skirmish.

1981 to 1985 is a fair way from today; the tanks are Chieftains, Leopard 2, T64s to T80s and M60s. At this time, radios were limited in some cases for the infantry and the lists reflect this. We have also included some optional rules and clarifications based on Manoeuvre Group issue 2. These have been included, as the absence of radios in the infantry does restrict their flexibility, and it's important to clearly understand how this is covered in the rules to ensure that they do not impede the speed of play, plus a few general corrections/clarifications.

The format of these lists has changed to align with issue 2 of the rules. They are compatible with issue 1 rules combined with the free Bulletins. The forces are listed as before, but the infantry is given a more detailed breakdown as to how they can be deployed from their AFVs, and in most cases the tactical factors for the weapon types are provided.

As always, these lists can be used for any wargame set, not just Manoeuvre Group, as they are real lists. For Manoeuvre Group players, full vehicle and weapon specifications are included. For non-Manoeuvre Group players the vehicle specifications are defined in such a way that the armor values can be converted back to basic values for use with other rules. Obviously, this also allows the armor penetration of weapons to be defined on the same basis.
