I am one of the dinosaurs that still play full battles , in 15mm no less. ACW I play in 25mm but the short attention span of the modern world doesnt cater to this style of play.

Cold Steel

The battles of the American Civil War fought west of the Appalachian Mountains broke Confederate resistance and materially led to Union Victory. From the mountains of eastern Kentucky and Tennessee, to the fetid northeast corner of Mississippi, to the frozen cedars of Murfreesboro, and the piedmont of middle Georgia, the war raged over thousands of miles.

This scenario book contains rules to play eleven battles in the Western Theater of the American Civil War. They range from assaulting heavy siege lines, urban combat, winter weather, and even night fighting.

No specific set of rules is required to play the games in this book. Each scenario includes a detailed map for placing terrain and scenery on the game table. Unit starting locations are clearly marked, as well as where reinforcements may enter the board. Time is expressed in terms of 10 minute, 15 minute, and 20 minute increments; easily adaptable to most regimental level rules. The scenarios also provide a detailed Order of Battle showing each unit that fought in that battle, including figure ratios for 20, 30, 40, 50, and 100 historic men per figure/stand. The Order of Battle also includes a rating for each unit, as well as the weapons they carried into battle. This book does not contain core rules for miniature wargames.

Scenarios Include:

The Battle of Mill Springs
The Battle of Fort Donelson: Breakout
The Battle of Iuka
The Second Battle of Corinth
The Battle of Perryville
The Battle of Stones River: Opening
The Battle of Stones River: Sheridan Holds the Line
The Battle of Wauhatchie
The Battle of Fort Sanders
The Third Battle of Murfreesboro
The Battle of Griswoldville
