That was quick! I just added it the the vault on Monday.

although I thought this was already available via the Vault?

Nope! This is my first venture into the vault. I need to clean up Capital Navies a bit and get it out there too.

Campaign outlines like this are useful not only for use strictly as intended, but as an idea farm for other settings, as well as possible mechanisms for use in your own project.

Yes, easy conversion to a sci-fi setting with the point to point movement. (Hmmmmm…add that the list of things to do).

Pretty much describes it as not being a game at all! 8)

Call it truth in advertising. I didn't want anyone buying it expecting a tabletop miniatures game.

Very interesting, I see it as being useful for all those ships I've bought that never really saw action, this is a way to give them something to do outside of historical re-fights.

Ayup! It's all about getting models into games. You can make it as historical – or not – as you wish. It was written a while back before the variety of 1/600 models was as extensive as it became.

Very interesting reading and extremely useful

Wow! Praise from Ceasar!

I'm a huge fan of ACW ironclads and have a whole shelf of both rules and historical references so this is an automatic buy. Looks terribly interesting!

Hope you enjoy it!

Wargame Vault announces the availability of

Anaconda: Naval Warfare On The Mississippi River & Gulf Coast 1862-1863
Price: $8.00 USD

Publisher: Ray Garbee

Ramming Speed! During the American Civil War, the Union and Confederate navies clashed along the length of the Mississippi River fighting for control of the primary strategic waterway in North America. Now, you can take part in this epic struggle with Anaconda.

Anaconda is a campaign framework designed to generate tabletop miniature games simulating riverine naval battles of the American Civil War. The purpose is to link together a series of tabletop battles in a framework that provides players with reasons for fighting battles beyond the mere presence of the enemy. Victory goes to the side best able to meet their objectives and not merely who wins the tactical battles.

Anaconda includes a strategic map of the Mississippi River and Gulf Coast, tactical maps for use in setting up tabletop battles, squadron forms, and a random event table. Anaconda is designed for use with any set of tabletop ACW naval wargame rules. The game requires but does not include dice, miniatures and rules for resolving tactical combat.
