I think on the product side of things there is something new almost every day on TMP. So there must be a fair demand.
I guess the trouble is most product is not in the pocket money range of youngster who might be interested in starting. But then again I have seen several videos where kids just make a house or bunkers, out of household junk, sorted.
A large portion of wargames is the rules. We can all start with the basics and strip out the stuff which we can modify or go with or even add whole sections to if we want.
I think most have a historical period that we are interested in and that fuels the basic understanding of the type of game we want.
I guess the atmosphere around many game is one of excluding bystanders, just looks like two blokes muttering over a rule book

The Great Wargaming Survey

We've published more results of the Great Wargaming Survey. This time, we focus on what comes to the table. Which periods and genres do wargamers prefer? What scale or size of miniature is most popular, how long is the ideal game, and what size of game is 'hot' (and what's not)?
