It is April 30, 1863, and you – the 3rd Company, 1st Battalion of the Legion Etrangere – are engaged in what looked like a dull assignment as guard for a convoy of bullion moving up the high road from Vera Cruz towards Puebla. The country is fever-ridden, and this seems like a very routine duty. Right until 2,000 Mexican troops appear.
This is a convention-style game about Camerone, the heroic last stand of a company of the French Foreign Legion. The game's all about the romance of the Foreign Legion. It's unfair. The French have all the advantages. They shoot whenever they want to, get +1 in melee, and have actual names and personal details. The players have a squad each, and keep track of wounds and ammunition. The heroic Mexicans have very basic rules and fall off the table when grazed by a Minie ball. Did I mention it's unfair?
