Wargame Vault announces the availability of:

FiveCore Sandbox
Price: $2.99 USD

Publisher: Nordic Weasel Games

Up ahead, it looks like a bunch of the locals are gathering.

Could be a sign of trouble, could be they need help with something. Never know in advance.

Second team goes to take a look while you hang back to keep an eye on things.

Suddenly shots ring out from across the street. We have contact!

Sandbox is a mini-campaign system for FiveCore games (though it can be adopted to others as well) focusing on infantry patrols in an occupied city.

Inspired by infantry actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, it could be applied to theoretical, fictional or even futuristic peacekeeping operations as well.

Command your infantry squad as you move across the table, investigate designated points and try to roll with the punches.

If you get in over your head, you'll be able to call in support… if HQ approves it.

Sandbox uses random rolls to generate encounters, giving an unpredictable experience crafted to be particularly useful for solo players, and can be easily incorporated in a conventional wargames campaign.

Features include:

  • Rules adjustments for FiveCore to fit the setting better.
  • Three different levels of enemies.
  • A set of skills to acquire, specifically suited to the environment.
  • Advice on how to scale up the campaign game to include bigger actions.
