Texas Grognard writes:

Oh yes! I remember my grandmother (Maw Maw) living in a shotgun house on Rocheblathe St in N'awlins waay back in the early seventies. The reason why so many old homes in NOLA were built like that was under old city tax laws homes were taxed upon how wide its street frontage was.
My grandmother's old house was a duplex built in the 1830's. She moved there in 1938 with my Grandpa (Paw Paw), Mom, and Aunt; raised them and my Uncle there and lived there until 1974 when she and my Paw Paw moved to Chalmette, LA. What few childhood memories I have of it were that it was a happy place. I also remember her cat Buster. He was an extremely good mouser and extrordinarily patient and friendly cat as he and I got along like peas in a pod. Ah what memories. Thanks for doing this model sir as it evokes some great memories. Salut y'all!

Wargame Vault announces the availability of:

Nola House

Nola House

Publisher: Finger and Toe Models

In the 19th Century, New Orleans architecture had a more varied past than most cities, but even traditional American houses were brightened by paint reflecting their families' Caribbean heritage. The five color schemes of the Nola House reflect the vibrant hues of even poor homes of parts of the Crescent City. While based on a real house in New Orleans, Nola House can be used in any 19th Century American setting.

Remember, every Finger and Toe model comes with smoosh assurance: if ya'll smoosh your Nola House, a new set waits your summons from hard drive and printer.

Price – $3.00 USD
