Aussiejed of Eureka Miniatures writes:

Napoleon's maxim that an army marches on its stomach alerted us to the need for catering. To this end, Alan Marsh has sculpted a cantiniere and her wagon full of victuals, as well as a French field bakery. To facilitate the effectiveness of the martial arm, we also have two sword sharpeners and a wheelwright. All of these will make a great addition to any horse-and-musket baggage train.

While researching this release, our inspiration came from two sources:

The illustrations by JOB featured in the book La Cantiniere were the first. This story of a young woman who becomes a cantiniere and whose life in intertwined with Napoleon's rise and fall. Future releases in our Revolutionary vignettes range will also be drawn from this source.

La Cantiniere and provision cart

The second inspiration for the range was the Britains Zoo and Farm series. The concept here was that a complete zoo or farm could be built one set-piece at a time (in my case, that meant birthdays and Christmas). Recalling this, we intend to produce something similar to make an 18th Century military camp. Although specifically made for our Wars of the French Revolution, many of the pieces can be used for earlier and later armies with slight variations during painting.

Keep an eye open in the coming months for our resin tent set, the perfect companion to these current releases. Sculpted by hobby favorite HG Walls of the U.S.A.
