A standard "platoon" in TY allows you to field anywhere between 2-4 vehicles, giving you some flexibility in deciding how many points you want to spend. A below-strength platoon of 2-3 tanks reflect attrition, vehicle availability, etc. I have no problem with that.

The fifth vehicle allows you to make it a company command (Combat Team HQ) tank. US Combat Team HQ commands include 1-2 vehicles, so if you buy two boxes of 5 vehicles you now have the minimum number of tanks required for a tank company (2 command tanks and two platoons of 4 tanks).

Abrams Tank Platoon (TUBX18)

The M1 Abrams was a new tank built from the ashes of a failed project, built with cost in mind, but not neglecting technology. It utilized the latest armor, targeting, night vision, and engine technologies.

The RDF/LT (Rapid Deployment Force/Light Tank) assault gun is a pint-sized vehicle designed to give the U.S. Army's Rapid Deployment Force an easily transportable combat vehicle that adds a valuable punch to the light forces that it is intended to support.

LAV-AD Air Defense Platoon (TUBX22)

The U.S. Marine Corps LAV-25 (Light Armored Vehicle) is a modular platform used for numerous roles. The Marines fielded the LAV-AD, in which the primary armament was replaced with a GAU-12 Equalizer 25mm 5-barreled Gatling Cannon. In addition, it was equipped with four FIM-92 Stinger missiles each. This combination provided the Marines with capable defense against helicopters and ground-attack aircraft.
