Age of Valor: Seven Weeks War and the 3rd Italian Risorgimento

Age of Valor: Seven Weeks War and the 3rd Italian Risorgimento. This is an independent Age of Valor (AoV) expansion chapter or mini-module for Age of Eagles II, also known as Napoleonic Fire & Fury. As such, AOE II is needed to properly play this game. In most cases, all rules changes have been imbedded in the Data Charts, as well as the charts and tables on the Quick Reference Sheet. All players need to do is use these new specifications or DRMs with the original rules, then play as normal. Changes unique to the 1866 Seven Weeks War or 3rd Risorgimento, and the subject of this expansion set, are found in these pages. $15.00 USD

Ospreys…

072 British Light Infantryman vs Patriot Rifleman: American Revolution 1775-83

072 British Light Infantryman vs Patriot Rifleman: American Revolution 1775-83. Combat Men series. Evaluates the strengths and limitations of both sides' open-order specialists, with particular focus upon three revealing battles: Harlem Heights (September 16, 1776), where the Patriots took heart from being able to hold their own in an escalating clash with Crown light forces; Freeman's Farm (September 19, 1777), where British light infantry engaged Patriot riflemen in notably rough terrain; and Hanging Rock (August 6, 1780), where Patriot riflemen and partisans attacked a Loyalist encampment, including Provincial Corps light infantry. Specially commissioned artwork, archive illustrations, and newly drawn mapping complement the authoritative text. $23.00 USD

OMM Discount 15%: Now $19.55 USD.
125 British Coastal Weapons vs German Coastal Weapons: The Dover Strait 1940-44

125 British Coastal Weapons vs German Coastal Weapons: The Dover Strait 1940-44 Duel series. One of the longest-running battles of World War II took place across the English Channel, in which huge artillery guns attempted to destroy each other, created psychological terror among the local inhabitants living near the coast, and harassed shipping over a four-year period. Examines the array of powerful weapons located across the Strait of Dover. Superb color artworks explore both fixed gun batteries (including Jane and Clem, and batteries Todt and Lindemann) and railway artillery (such as the German K5 and K12 guns, and the British 18-inch Boche Buster). Construction and targeting technology used by each side are also covered in detail, and the locations of all the major sites around Dover and Calais are pinpointed on easy-to-follow maps. $23.00 USD

OMM Discount 15%: Now $19.55 USD.
127 U.S. Destroyers vs German U-Boats: The Atlantic 1941-45

Examines the technical details of the U-boats, destroyers and destroyer escorts involved, including ship and submarine profiles, weaponry artworks, and key clashes – U.S.S. Kearny vs. U-568, U.S.S. Roper (DD-147) vs U-85, U.S.S. Eugene E. Elmore (DE-686) vs U-549, and U.S.S. Atherton (DE-169) vs U-853. $23.00 USD

OMM Discount 15%: Now $19.55 USD.

086 Nambu Pistols: Japanese Military Handguns 1900-45. Weapon series. Featuring full-color artwork and carefully chosen photographs, this book charts the origins, development, combat use, and legacy of the Nambu pistols. Cutaway artwork reveals the inner workings of these important handguns, while specially commissioned battle scenes depict them in use in action. Influenced by the German C 96 and other semi-automatic pistols, the first Nambu model was never accepted for universal issue, being confined largely to purchase by Japanese officers. Adopted in 1925, the 14th Year Type was to become the best-known of these handguns, serving in every campaign undertaken by the Japanese in the 1930s and then throughout World War II. It served alongside the bizarrely conceived Type 94, intended as the weapon of airmen, tank crew, and anyone to whom its compact dimensions were useful. $22.00 USD

OMM Discount 15%: Now $18.70 USD.

317 British Aircraft Carriers 1945-2010. New Vanguard series. Explains development of the Royal Navy's air power throughout the Cold War, the retreat from empire, and the Falklands and Iraq wars up to the moment Royal Navy fixed-wing air power was temporarily axed in 2010. Illustrated with new profiles of the key carriers, cutaway of HMS Victorious, and new illustrations of the carriers in action. Introduces a new generation of light carriers designed for the innovative Harrier jump jet. They were the key to the Royal Navy's victory in the Falklands campaign, and they went on to fight in the two Iraq wars. $20.00 USD

OMM Discount 15%: Now $17.00 USD.

549 The Dacians and Getae at War: 4th Century BC-2nd Century AD. Men at Arms series. Being formidable warriors, able to field tens of thousands of infantry and cavalry, and led by a military aristocracy, the Dacians and Getae presented a real threat to Rome's northeastern frontier. They inflicted several defeats on Rome, crossing the Danube to invade the province of Moesia, and later stubbornly resisting counter-invasions from their strong mountain fortresses. Draws upon the latest literary and archaeological research to provide a complete account of these fascinating fighters, including previously unseen photos of archaeological finds, with color illustrations showing the appearance and weaponry of their warrior kings, noblemen, infantry, and cavalry. $20.00 USD

The Maps of Spotsylvania Through Cold Harbor: An Atlas of the Fighting at Spotsylvania Court House and Cold Harbor, Including all Cavalry Operations – May 7 Through June 3, 1864

The Maps of Spotsylvania Through Cold Harbor: An Atlas of the Fighting at Spotsylvania Court House and Cold Harbor, Including all Cavalry Operations – May 7 Through June 3, 1864. Continues Gottfried's efforts to study and illustrate the major campaigns of the Civil War's Eastern Theater. This is the ninth book in the ongoing Savas Beatie Military Atlas series. Includes 134 maps. Continues the actions of both armies through the completion of the Overland Campaign. After the Wilderness fighting, the Army of the Potomac attempted to swing around the right flank of Gen. Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia and shoot straight for Richmond. The Confederate capital was never the goal; the move was intended to force Lee out into the open, where the larger and well-stocked Union army could destroy it. $38.00 USD

OMM Discount 15%: Now $32.50 USD.

Gettysburg's Peach Orchard: Longstreet, Sickles, and the Bloody Fight for the Commanding Ground Along the Emmitsburg Road. Hessler and Isenberg, both Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guides, combine the military aspects of the July 2, 1863, fighting with human interest stories in a balanced treatment of the bloody attack and defense of Gettysburg's Peach Orchard. General Sickles' questionable advance forced Longstreet's artillery and infantry to fight for every inch of ground on the way to Cemetery Ridge. The Confederate attack crushed the Peach Orchard salient and other parts of the Union line and threatened the left flank of Maj. Gen. George Meade's Army of the Potomac. The command decisions made on and around the Sherfy property influenced actions on every part of the battlefield. The occupation of the high ground at the Peach Orchard helped General Lee rationalize ordering the tragic July 3 assault known as Pickett's Charge. $35.00 USD

OMM Discount 15%: Now $29.75 USD.
Panzer Reconnaissance

Panzer Reconnaissance. Draws on first-hand accounts and rare and previously unseen photographs in this comprehensive and fully-illustrated study of the panzer reconnaissance troops, the crucial eyes and ears of the German armored forces of World War II. Equipped with a mixture of armored cars and motorcycles, the motorized reconnaissance battalions (Aufklarungs-Abteilungen) often operated far ahead of the battlefront to survey the terrain, observe enemy positions, and identify enemy forces – key information required ahead of any armored assault. In the second half of the war, with Germany on the strategic defensive, armored reconnaissance troops found themselves increasingly drawn into combat operations, and even holding sectors of the line. At the same time, more modern equipment was introduced, with motorcycles phased out and purpose-built armored personnel carriers (Schutzenpanzerwagen) introduced. $50.00 USD

Elizabeth's Navy: Seventy Years of the Postwar Royal Navy. During the 70 years spanned by the reign of the late Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Navy changed out of all recognition. Its status as a superpower navy with worldwide bases and operations has been eclipsed, but it remains a powerful force because of its potency, if not its size. Maritime history author Paul Brown takes us through each decade in turn, outlining the key events and developments, and charting the changes to the size, structure and capabilities of the Navy. More than 260 color and black-and-white images provide a stunning visual record of the ships and operations that featured most prominently in each decade. $60.00 USD

Solomons Air War: Volume 1 – Guadalcanal: August-September 1942

Solomons Air War: Volume 1 – Guadalcanal: August-September 1942. Australia-based Claringbould has written numerous books about the WWII air war in the Pacific, with the distinction of checking Japanese records to verify or disprove U.S. records. He's led expeditions to find lost WWII aircraft, and illustrates at various islands and spots. This book chronicles aerial warfare in the opening phase of the war in the WWII Solomons Islands theater, being the critical period of August-September 1942. The early August 1942, a bold American invasion of both Tulagi and Guadalcanal caught the IJN completely off guard. Nevertheless, Japanese air power responded swiftly and in some cases desperately. $49.00 USD

OMM Discount 15%: Now $41.65 USD.
