Well, it's great news from Lard Island, as we have just released the new edition of our groundbreaking WWII rules - I Ain't Been Shot Mum - in time for their tenth birthday. To celebrate, we have gone for a full-color edition of the rulebook, available in hardcopy, PDF format, or interactive iPad version (for the more techno-minded amongst us).
The rules are 104 pages packed with rules, scenarios, a game generation system for those pick-up games on a club evening, and details of the British, German and U.S. forces in Normandy to serve as an introduction to the rules. Additionally, we have produced a card deck for the game in full color, comprising 104 cards; and a Game Token set of 66 pieces specially designed to accompany the rules.
The rules are a modest £20.00 GBP, with the Game Deck at £12.00 GBP and the Game Token set also at £12.00 GBP. However, you can enjoy some great bundle deals that make the rules even more fantastic value for money.
I Ain't Been Shot Mum is designed for games of roughly a company of infantry or armor a side, with options for support platoons to join them in accomplishing their mission. The smallest maneuver element is the squad, weapons team, or individual AFV. The smallest command unit is the platoon. The rules may be played in any scale from 6mm to 20mm, and using any range of figures or basing system. No rebasing is required.
The rules place an emphasis on command, control and communications on the battlefield, with the officers and NCOs playing a central role in motivating their force and keeping them combat-effective on their way to victory, and overcoming the friction and uncertainty of the battlefield.
Based on the accounts of veterans of the Second World War, the old version of I Ain't Been Shot Mum regularly tops gamers polls as the rules they prefer to play. With this new edition, we are confident that even more gamers will enjoy this exciting and dynamic period.
