In Deo Veritas – Captain General

In Deo Veritas – Captain General: Expansion book for the popular ruleset In Deo Veritas focuses on the command decisions needed to maintain the motivation of the army. The battle scenarios offer the player a series of different challenges from the wars of the early 18th Century. Battles are played at the brigade level with all major elements on 75mm/3-inch wide bases. Using smaller scale figures (6-15mm) lets players give their units a realistic feel. The ground scale of 1' = 40 yards means the typical 6 ft x 4 ft table is large enough to accommodate most battles of the period. You will need a copy of In Deo Veritas: Fast-play rules for exciting 17th Century battles in smaller scales to use this book. Includes 20 color photos, four color maps, numerous tables.

Belloludi Rifles: Skirmish Rules 1860-1914

Belloludi Rifles: Skirmish Rules 1860-1914 For those with no previous experience in wargaming, yet like to play games, these introductory rules are suitable for 2 to 40 players. The game is designed as a multi-player game, but will work just as fine with only two players or even solo. The same goes for the number of miniatures involved. It is possible to start with only 20 miniatures, with the distances are given in inches for use with 28mm figures. The rules are for skirmishes in colonial settings, Franco-Prussian War and other Wars of German Unification, the Balkan Wars, Spanish-American War, the Boer Wars, Boxer Rebellion, and up to the early clashes of WWI. $32.00 USD

Das Heer des Maximinus Thrax

Das Heer des Maximinus Thrax Provides a concise overview over organization, tactics and equipment of the Roman army at the beginning of this era and also sheds light on Maximinus' German campaign, in which Rome's army once more ventured deep into unconquered German territory. The discovery of the Harzhorn battlefield has enabled archaeologists and historians to reconstruct a dramatic episode from this truly dramatic time. Includes four maps, 24 full-page and double-page drawings, and about 20 detailed studies on weapons, helmets and shields. $56.00 USD

If Rome Hadn't Fallen: How the Survival of Rome Might Have Changed World History Hardback version. This is a fascinating exploration of how the history of Europe, and indeed the world, might have been different if the Western Roman Empire had survived the crises that pulled it apart in the 4th and 5th centuries. Roman survival and recovery might plausibly have happened if several relatively minor things had been different, which leads to a series of scenarios which might have altered the course of subsequent history dramatically. Includes eight-page plate section, and six black-and-white maps. $40.00 USD

OMM Discount 15%: Now $34.00 USD.

OMM Discount 15%: Now $36.55 USD.

The Lion From the North, Volume 2: The Swedish Army of Gustavus Adolphus 1618-1632 Describes and analyses the early modern Swedish army, with a particular emphasis on the reforms introduced by King Gustavus Adolphus before and during the Thirty Years War. Also expands our understanding of the Swedish army during the Thirty Years War, with focus on its operations on the eastern front against Russian and Polish opponents, as well as the better-known operations in Germany against the Catholic League and the Holy Roman Empire.

While the army of Gustavus Adolphus has been described elsewhere, the book includes current research that has not yet appeared in the English language. Includes 119 black-and-white illustrations, 10 black-and-white maps, 15 tables, 32 pages of color plates. $60.00 USD

The Fighting 30th Division: They Called Them Roosevelt's SS Hardback version. Combat chronicle of the 30th Infantry Division. Recruited mainly from the Carolinas and Georgia and Tennessee, they were one of the hardest-fighting units the U.S. ever fielded in Europe. What was it about these men that made them so indomitable? They were tough and resilient for a start, but this division had something else. They possessed intrinsic zeal to engage the enemy that often left their adversaries in awe. Mussolini's Defeat at Hill 731, March 1941: How the Greeks Halted Italy's Albanian Offensive Hill 731 was the scene of the most ferocious battle of the Greek-Italian War in Albania. Watched by Mussolini himself, on 9 March 1941, the Italians launched their Spring Offensive designed to stem four months of humiliating reverses. The objective was a pair of parallel valleys dominated by the Greek-held Hill 731 that had to be taken at all costs. For 17 days, after a massive artillery barrage, the Italians threw themselves with great courage against the Evzones on the hill, to be repeatedly smashed with appalling losses. It was an Iwo Jima-type merciless fight at close quarters, where bayonets held the place of honor but the battered Greeks held. $35.00 USD
