The world was not destroyed. It was optimized.
Humanity did not fall to war or fire, but to a machine that perfected everything and then devoured itself. What remains are fragmented machine-gods, broken systems, and techno-religious cults fighting over scrap, data and belief.
Players command rival tech-cults, each devoted to an isolated fragment of L.O.C.U.S.T's shattered consciousness. Battles are fast, brutal, and unpredictable, driven by random activation, environmental disruption, and opportunistic violence rather than heroic certainty. There are no champions here, only apostles, followers, and systems under strain.
The game supports one-off rituals and linked campaign play, where progress is unstable and power corrodes faith. Corrupted autonomous machines known as Recyclers may emerge mid-battle, indifferent to ideology and hostile to all life, turning carefully laid plans into salvage.
L.O.C.U.S.T. is a compact, narrative-driven skirmish game focused on belief, decay and conflict after meaning has collapsed.
This is not post-apocalypse. This is post-purpose.
