We're very pleased to release our latest historical range, the Thirty Years War. This range will focus on the first half of the war, until the Battle of Nördlingen ended the Swedish period of the war and ushered the French into the action.

Imperial Black Cuirassiers

The models were made by Mike Broadbent, and he's done his usual superb job on crafting these. They are "large 15mm" models, to make them compatible with some of the most popular 15mm mid-17th century models already available. However, every effort will be made to assure that they fit in their proper numbers on 40mm-width bases.

The first release fills a substantial gap - these are German Cuirassiers in ¾ plate and wearing their characteristic Zischagge helmet, made famous by such regiments as the fearsome Pappenheim Cuirassiers. In their sinister black armour and aggressive-looking helmets, these pistoliers will lend a look of authenticity to your Imperial or Protestant German armies.

These models would also be perfect for German-style Cuirassiers serving in Swedish and Polish armies of the period as well. They'd also look the business as Haselrig's Lobsters across the channel!

As will all the codes in the range, a pack of these horsemen is "ready to go" - in a unit of twelve figurines, officer, cornet, trumpeter and nine troopers, with horses for all, naturally.

Although Mike has a few things on his plate for me and other manufacturers, we are both quite keen to get on with this range, making a unit of pike-and-shot German infantry available soon! And the line will be fully supported - possibly even with some character models portraying freebooters who find "a valley untouched by war"....

Available now. Our models shown here were painted by Artmaster Studio. Happy gaming!
