This week sees the release of the latest book for the Starship Troopers RPG - The Mobile Infantry Field Manual!

Mobile Infantry Field Manual

Packed full of information that a trooper needs to know when going into battle against the Arachnids or Skinnies, this tome forms an essential upgrade to the game and is the perfect companion to the Arachnid Empire sourcebook.

From the Federation Oath at the start of the book (that every trooper is required to take), the book dives into new rules for equipping squads, showing you exactly what the standard-issue equipment is for troopers at a squad level (no more begging for a Javelin - two troopers can immediately grab one!), as well as the standard-issue lists for Light Armour and Pathfinder troopers. For gun bunnies (we know you are out there!), the next chapter covers every piece of offensive hardware available to the Mobile Infantry, from the humble Machete to the lethal Shredder Squad Support Cannon. Each has a superb piece of artwork showing its workings, along with tactical advice from SICON and some more down-to-earth words from Career Sergeant Zim himself.

Armour is up next, and there are some new designs for troopers to try out - the Engineer Power Suit, the M-1A6 used by the elite Pathfinders, Raider Armour for the light MI and, best of all, the formidable Exosuits!

General equipment comes next, including three different types of Neodog, leading into Cybernetics, for the trooper who always seems to come back on a stretcher but just refuses to die! Those looking for bigger hardware will start salivating over the Vehicles chapter, which includes new rules for vehicle equipment, as well as full stats for the CHAS, Firefox VSTOL (no need to rely on the Fleet boys any more!), Gecko, and many more. If you want to start mowing bugs down in bigger nbumbers, then the next chapter, Vehicle & Emplacement Weaponry, will be the one for you. From humble Micro Support and Reliant weapons platforms to Hail Mary Mortars and Plasmatic Cannon, there is something for every size of bug!

Cross-Training adds the Chaplain, Light Armour Trooper (actually a new core class), and Pathfinder, as new options for the career-minded trooper. However, we believe players will be far more interested in the next chapter when it comes to playing the hero - Promotions and Awards. This chapter first gives full rules and guidelines for earning promotions, as well as how to run campaigns at higher ranks (all the way to Major before you start getting too sidelined in logistics). It then slides into medals themselves, along with all the criteria needed to earn them. Players may soon start acquiring Citations for Meritous Service but it will take a great deal of effort to gain the Mobile Infantry Cross or Medal of Valour...

The Mobile Infantry Field Manual is priced at $29.95 USD, and will be appearing in your local stores this week!
