Gentlemen,

I have just received the following note from Mr. Kostas Konstantoulakis, a close friend of Spyros and the Gentleman who first shared the sad news with me.

"Hi Patrick,

thank you so much for everything you did. Your posting in the forum was so touching. Marina Koumousis is the sister of Spyros. I' send her all those comments by mail, because I'm afraid I'll not in position to tell all this about by phone whithout crying.

Kostas"

Further comment is superflous.

Dear All,

I only learned yesterday that my partner, Spyros Koumousis, died very suddenly last December 28 of a heart attack.

Beyond my own shock and loss, I can only assume that his remarkable company, Alphacast Miniatures, is now out of business, at least until further notice.

Similarly, I will no longer be able to honor any orders for his many Alphacast products, including his unique 15mm ranges for the Greek War of Independence, Balkan Wars, Hoplites, and his new and popular range of Footballers in 28mm.

For three years, he was the most reliable and helpful Gentleman I've ever done business with in the hobby.

His service to our customers here in The States was flawless, and the friends he made by those efforts, his astonishing artistry, and accessibility, are feeling the loss as keenly as I.

Survived only by his Mother and Sister, notes of condolence can be mailed to:

Spyros was not only my first client, but he had become a friend. His concern and interest in my own family, pets, and activities, sympathy in sickness, and shared joys, quickly made me appreciate that he was of a rare breed.

A constant friend of the America that is, his support for this country, was always encouraging. He was a man of faith and principle and knew evil when he saw it.

I, the hobby, and even the world are just a bit poorer today.

He takes with him the respect, admiration, and affection of his colleagues, customers, and collaborators.

Ave Atque Vale!
