Wyatt,

actually, it gets a bit better still for the FFL, as some of those recaptured Chars B1bis were "Flammpanzer B2" flamethrower tank conversions, and the odd Panzer IV or even Panther was picked up by the FFL or FFI along the way.evil grin

As for the infantry, it depends IMHO upon what scale you're operating in. If 20mm or smaller, you can get away with US GIs as proxies, But IMHO if you go for 28mm or larger, there are some important details regarding FFL troops weaponry that will IMHO stand out. Rifles were overwhelmingly MAS 36 or US-supplied Springfields, or various models of British-supplied Lee-Enfields. Only the 1st RCP had the M1 Garand.

SMGs were either Sten guns or Thompson, although a captured MP40 was a prized possession indeed.

LMGs were either the ubiquitous French Chatterault FM24/29, British Brens, or even the occasional captured MG42. AFAIK the BAR was not issued to French troops.

HMGs could still be the old reliable Hotchkiss M1914, as well as US-supplied .30 cal. Browning air-cooled machine guns.

Adrian helmets were worn frequently when available as a form of national pride and identity.

Early War

This week, we have a bumper crop of goodness. John-Paul expands on his post on the forum about future projects. We extract some articles from Firestorm-Bagration and Wargames Illustrated to share with you on the website. Also, we have three reports on the Battlefront staffers' recent raid down to Panzerschreck.

Three more Mid-war Monsters become available this Saturday (25 July):

Boarhound I Armoured Car
M6 Heavy Tank (MM05)
P40 Heavy Tank (MM13)
T55 3” Gun Motor Carriage

Another four Mid-war Monsters due out next week, as also featured in Product Spotlights.

We also have a new Soviet Light Self-propelled Artillery Regiment Intelligence Briefing, featuring a Flames of War company full of SU-76M assault guns.

Blake has updated the Events with an event from Italy.
