Judas - actually, in the book, carrying the brain bug out of the hive is never mentioned. The Sargeant who captures it is said to be using its bloated body as a shield, but I don't believe any indication of its size, relative to Sargeant Zim, is given. It was certainly big enough for him to hide behind it successfully. I do seem to recall that elsewhere, when the different castes of bug royalty are discussed, the brain bug is described as being very large and immobile, it's bulk being more than its legs can handle.
