Why gunners in fatigues? It's possibly more common than first thought. One of W.H. Pyne's excellent sketches from 1802 shows the gunners with the heavier duties stripped down whereas the rest are in regimentals.
The very talented Jim Bowen painted guns and crews here, and in the first batch shown. The equally talented Chris Adcock painted the 7th Hussars shown here. They had just been completed, and we thought it would be rude not to show them.
