Hi, all!
Well it's been a long time since I did an update, I'm very, very naughty, and the little elves have been deprived of a voice!! They are heartily annoyed, and I'm sure you all know just how mean an elf can be... when it's annoyed!!
Firstly, let me say I'm sorry I've been so bad, but it has taken a while for me to pick the bamboo splinters from under my nails from working - at all places - a bamboo sales warehouse.
Enough, I just wanted to bring you up-to-date on models made and in production since the Stryker and latterly the Panther now featured on T-shirts worldwide...... And no, for some reason the royalty cheques seem not to arrived as yet.
First, there was an M1089 Modern recovery vehicle. An 8-month project.
Second, a Neubaufahrzeug (that three-turreted German tank) as used in Norway and then in Russia, with the odd one pottering around until later in the war. Some call it the propaganda tank. (JTFM)
Third, a PzIIIJ/J1 with all the nice extra armour bits (JTFM) You will need lots of these, a lovely model.
Fourth, a Landwasserschlepper (JTFM) - which is a great model to own just so you can cheerily chant it's name at bedtime, and because it's a very useful amphibian for the bath.
Fifth, an Elephant - yes, warts and all, and with a hell of an 88mm trunk (I certainly wouldn't want to be in its sights). Well worth having, as one of my favourite models so far - I can see yet another T-shirt on the way. (JTFM)
Sixth, a WWI British three-ton subsidy truck (B-Type), very similar to an AEC. Just off the lot, it's found a good home at JTFM, and will be winging its way there very shortly. A very useful piece, usable from about 1900-1930s, so I can see the odd one Pulping it out and no doubt carried off into the back of beyond. Not to mention whole convoys for WWI. Just check out those wheels and the woodgrain.
Next is an M2/M3, with some other cool models to follow, including some of the neatest WWI I can scratch together.
