We are pleased to announce that our next plastic box is ready for pre-order.
We of course won't take any money until they are ready to ship.
Plastic Napoleonic French Heavy Cavalry 1812-1815
Cuirassiers and Carabiniers

The box contains 14 cavalrymen, including one officer, one trumpeter, and one standard bearer. Although you can substitute the trumpeter and standard bearer for troopers (giving you 13 rank-and-file) if you like. All the figures come with both Cuirassier and Carabinier heads to allow you to build up units of either of these famous Heavy Cavalry corps. We are also providing enough arms to allow the whole unit to be 'at the charge' or at shoulder swords. As there was spare room on the horse frame (if we'd put another horse on it, it wouldn't be the right ratio for the riders frame), we decided to add a dead British Infantryman, as well as a French one and some battlefield debris. So you'll have three of each casualty in the box. The box will also include unit bases.
The Carabiniers are using the square service portemanteau. With a little trimming of the lace on the arms of the trumpeter, the Carabiniers can be used from 1810.

Many thanks to Dave Woodward and Jim Bowen for painting these samples up in double-quick time.
These are due mid-late September.

Contrary to the news item in the new Wargames Illustrated (issue 263), we have only one plastic set coming out this month (the French Heavies), not two. As mentioned before, the French Hussars and the Wars of the Roses (not Hundred Years War, as also mentioned in the magazine) sets have no release date as yet. These errors just seem to have just been a breakdown in communications.

We have just managed (hopefully) to squeeze in pictures of John Morris of Mystic Spirals' paint work on the new French Heavy Cavalry here, as they have just arrived in the post.
