One of the better "mass combat" starship games out there, IMO. Lets you put a lot of hulls on the table without sacrificing so too much detail for speed of play. Not good for realistic physics or one-on-one duels, but hard to beat for space opera uberfleets out to do some planet-smashing.

The generic fleet-scale sci-fi combat rules A Sky Full of Ships are now available as a download from RPGNow.

A Sky Full of Ships

This 40-page PDF document sells for $7.50 USD, and contains all that is required for play - ship design, basic movement and combat rules, optional rules such as electronic warfare, special weapons and technological levels, as well as scenarios, sample fleets and more.

Using simple, fast-moving game mechanics, ASFoS attempts to portray the important aspects of huge fleet engagements without becoming too bogged down in time-consuming detail. They're for those players willing to sacrifice some complexity to achieve a fast-moving, playable, and most importantly, fun game.
