of Scale Specialties is happy to announce a new set of 1:285-300 scale decals. These two sheets cover Luftwaffe fighter aircraft (Me-109E) as used in the Battle of Britain.
Sheet 5 covers specific, historical aircraft of individuals who were prominent in this era of WWII.
Sheet 6 provides additional fuselage numbers and artwork to complete the schwarm of four aircraft as flown. It should be noted that many of the fuselage, cockpit and nose art emblems were used later on in the war, and were used by the FW-190 aircraft as well. Sheet 6 also includes a schwarm of four historical aircraft from the Legion Condor in the Spanish Civil War.
These decals were designed by Norman E. Harms, and the file was one of several he was working on prior to his crossing over in September 2014. Fortunately, the layout was at a stage where it could be completed with little tweaking (the additional Legion Condor artwork on Sheet 6 is the tweak). These additional emblems should challenge your research skills, particularly in that many were used throughout the war. Norm felt these decals were a consummate challenge in that the 1:285 models are very small, the artwork needed to be large enough to be seen, and yet, it had to fit the model without being overpowering. The drawings also had to retain the detail of the originals as given in the various references consulted. Norm, being the perfectionist, accepted the challenge, and it is fervently hoped that these offerings are in accord with the high standards of his (and Scale Specialties') previous work, and that they bring that "extra" dimension to your gaming scenarios.
It was decided to release these decals on 22 March 2015, as this date would have been Norm's 74th birthday. So, in celebration, they are now available, and are ready for shipment now. The sheets are priced at $7.85 USD each, and should provide you with not only a few hours of research, possibly tedious application, but many hours of exciting gaming as a result of your diligence.

Note: Due to a printing error, shipment on these decals will be delayed, probably a week or so. Although you cannot see it on these sheets, the upper wing crosses wound up with an outline. Correction is in process.
