Hmmmm... Check out Freewargamesrules and so on. Are game designers an an endangered species? I think not. Could you and some mates and a few beers do better? The pay refects this. Go to school. Study Law, or Medicine. Preferably Law, but that's just me. Then get a proper job and buy all the miniature companies you want.

Mongoose Publishing currently has an open requirement for a Miniatures Game Designer to work in our Swindon (UK) office.

Many applicants are expected for the open game designer position at Mongoose Publishing

As an integral part of Mongoose Publishing, the successful applicant has the chance to join one of the fastest growing games companies in the industry and take part in a lively though professional atmosphere in our offices.

The successful applicant will be working on the development of various miniatures games, including A Call to Arms, Starship Troopers, Mighty Armies and Gangs of Mega-City One, as well as the creation of new miniatures games, both licenced and original.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Able to work fast in order to meet deadlines while maintaining absolute accuracy.
  • Already published, preferably in the miniatures games market.
  • The ability and desire to relocate to Swindon (UK) would be mandatory.
  • Knowledge of the D20 system would be useful.
  • Knowledge of Mongoose Publishing's existing miniatures games is absolutely necessary.
  • A passion for games and gaming.
  • Computer literate (Windows-based).
  • Excellent skills in written English, time management and planning.
  • A history of miniatures gaming in many different genres.
