Any chance of more head variants? Wide brimmed kettle hats (chapel de fer, eisenhut) would be most welcome.

Michael Perry of Perry Miniatures writes:

First of all... Happy New Year from Perry Miniatures!

Burgundians
Swiss

Here be pictures of the first 28mm plastic Mercenary complete units painted, these ones by Jim Bowen (jimbowentheminiaturepainter.moonfruit.com). One unit as you can see is Burgundian and the other Swiss, the number of pikemen in the block being greater in the latter. I will produce additional metal pikemen to bulk up the Swiss, and as you see I have already made metal heads which can be mixed with the plastic varieties for Swiss based on Schilling's work.

The early Tudor heads are also finished, and will work with the plastic box for a good deal of common soldiery from 1490-1520. Clothing styles did continually change for the upper classes and were aped to a certain extent by the lower. That said, looking at later visual sources such as Brughel (1560s), common folk were still wearing hose, doublet (albeit without a lower skirt) and a coat, the hat being the main obvious change. Obviously some troop types (e.g. Landsknects and the later Swiss) did follow fashion, and these aren't intended to be used for them.

Heads

The heads should be available in a month or so, with any luck!
