6mm (1:300) Scale Stalingrad Grain Elevator from TimeCast
We thought we'd have change from making our usual models and decided to produce something a little larger and more spectacular. We are proud to announce the release of our 6mm scale Stalingrad Grain Elevator. The model will be available from 1st January 2005, although we are offering a special price on orders placed prior to the release date.
Based on photographs and an analysis of Soviet wartime aerial photography, the TimeCast Stalingrad Grain Elevator is an impressively large model, almost 10" in length and 6" tall. It will dominate your tabletop just as the real building dominated the Stalingrad skyline in 1942!
The detail on the model has to be seen to be believed and sets a new standard for this scale of model. We put the finished model on display at the Warfare 2004 show at Reading and the reaction from both the show visitors and other traders was "Wow!!". This model definitely lives up to our slogan "historic buildings in miniature"!
The set comprises the Grain Elevator itself (a nine-piece kit), plus three ancillary buildings – a rail shed and two warehouses. The warehouses, beautifully detailed models in their own right, are almost 5" in length and will also be available as a separate item. The full complex is almost 24" in length and makes up into an awesome set piece. The kit is produced in a lightweight resin and will include full assembly instructions, a layout/elevation guide to the Grain Elevator Complex and an internal floor plan playing aide for the Grain Elevator to allow gamers to record the locations of their troops inside the building.
