I'm just finishing up a couple hundred Howling Griffons so these are fresh in my mind. The single and double arrow are variant tactical designations. The crossed arrow is for the assault squads and devastator squads are represented by either a open or closed triangle or a 'burst' pattern. I usually freehand all of these symbols on the guys and tanks as it lets me change them up a bit, but I'm not going to knock an easier alternative! :-)
