New Biblical Range from North Star

I was saying to Mike by PM, the Persians need to taken up with Foundry and Gorgon not me. I didn't give Steve the job as North Star figure designer with a brief to do Persians.

As I said in the news piece, the Biblical range came out of 'Of Gods and Mortals'. Steve made some Hoplites for his 'off-piste' Lucid Eye range link but anyone who has followed Steve's career will know he as a Greek fixation, and that's best not analysed.laugh

NickNorthStar of North Star writes:

We are about to launch a new range of 28mm metal figures titled North Star Kadesh. This will be a line of figures you can use to refight the Battle of Kadesh 1274BC.

Kadesh figures

The first releases are the New Kingdom Egyptians and Sea Peoples, and will be followed by Hittites and Allies.

This will be the launch into a wider 'Biblical' range.

The figures are being sculpted by North Star's staff designer, Steve Saleh.

The impetus for the range was a combination of Steve's enthusiasm for the period, and our association with those masters of laser-cut MDF, 4Ground. 4Ground produced a Pharaoh's chariot kit in MDF for our licensed figures to go with Osprey Publshing's game, Of Gods and Mortals.

Chariot

This model was too good for just one box set, and got us thinking about a wider range.

So the New Kingdom Egyptian chariots in the North Star Kadesh range are laser-cut MDF kits.

Unfortunately, the range is not all photographed yet. I will post something here on TMP when they are. The reason I wanted to announce the range now is to promote the fact that in the new Wargames Illustrated, issue 319 May 2014, there is an interview with Steve Saleh. In it, he talks about himself, his work and influences, but also gives you a step-by-step guide to figure design. The figure he uses in this guide is our new Egyptian Standard Bearer.

It's Worth a Read!

Issue 320, June 2014, will include an article written by our staff painter Kev Dallimore on painting the same model, as shown in the photo above.

Magazine

If you want to keep up-to-date with all North Star releases, join our mailing list. As well as figure painting, Kev lays out the newsletters and looks after the list, so you can rest assured as you are in his capable hands!

We also have a Facebook page, or as we call it at North Star, Faceache, where as well as links to new releases, there is actually a really good and extensive photo gallery. You don't have to sign up to Faceache to view the pictures.

Cheers!
