The world's greatest sporting tournament, the football (soccer) World Cup, will be kicking off in Germany soon with a global TV audience that will be measured in billions. To celebrate this momentous sporting event, Eureka Miniatures have released a range of 28mm soccer players, sculpted by Mike Broadbent with all the 'swerve', 'dribble' and 'shoot' any football fan could possibly want. We think football fans will enjoy painting up a few as display pieces in their favourite team's colours, or you could collect whole teams and devise some simple, fun rules for tabletop games and play out the entire World Cup in miniature.
The range includes a goalkeeper, and ten different figure variants for the out-field players, so if you buy team sets all the figures are different. Things would not be complete without goal posts and corner flags for the full match-day set up, and there's also a referee and linesmen figures who you can regale with polite questions regarding the quality of their eyesight and the legitimacy of their parentage! For added atmosphere you can even interrupt play with a pitch invasion from an over excited and distinctly under-dressed supporter.
