MW VI-4

In issue VI-4 of Medieval Warfare, we take a look at the twelfth century Norman invasion of Ireland. VI-4 features guest editor Owen Rees, who has helped us with a topic that is near and dear to his heart. Articles include an analysis of the Topographiae Hibernica (an important source for the period), Richard 'Strongbow' de Clare's siege of Dublin and a look at the Anglo-Norman fortifications built in Ireland around the same period – and that's just naming a few pieces on the subject! Because this issue has a guest editor, we ended up devoting nearly every article in the issue to the theme (with the exception of Peter van Dop's look at battlefield archaeology). If you are a fan of Irish history, VI-4 is definitely for you! As always, you can find a complete editorial plan on our website.

We plan to start sending out issue VI-4 to subscribers (aren't one yet? Click here) in early to mid-August. We'll be sending out pre-orders at the same time, so if you'd like to get your own copy of Medieval Warfare VI-4 as soon as possible, a pre-order is your best bet: besides fast service, you'll also receive a small discount. You can head over to our webshop to reserve your copy today.

And finally, you may notice that the interior of this Medieval Warfare looks a bit different! We decided to do an interior redesign that would bring more medieval flavor and interest to the publication, while featuring image material a bit more prominently. Be sure to let us know what you think, once your copy arrives!
