Those ships look great. I wish they would do a couple of Elizabethan ships to that standard – say and English and Spanish vessel for Errol Flynn, Spanish Main type games.

The Merrimack/Old Glory Shipyard would like to give you a sneak peek at what is on our workbench. In keeping with the Cold Wars 2008 pirate theme, we will have three new 25mm ships for our pirate-ship range ready for the show.

Pirate Hunter (front)
Pirate Hunter (back)
Pirate Hunter (side)

The first ship is the Pirate Hunter. This ship is a 4th Rate Ship of the Line that boasts 50 guns. This ship is a three-decker which measures about 32 inches in length. It will work well for those scenarios that involve major nations chasing pirates.

Merchant ship (front)
Merchant ship (back)
Merchant ship (side)

The second ship is a three-decker merchant ship. This ship can easily be used as a target for pirates, or as a large pirate ship similar to any seen in a Hollywood pirate movie. This ship measures 25 inches in length, and carries 30 guns.

Two-decker (front)
Two-decker (back)
Two-decker (side)

The last ship is a two-decker, 3-masted frigate that measures about 32 inches in length and carries 32 guns.

These ships - like the other ships in the Merrimack/Old Glory Shipyard line - will come with the necessary metal fittings for masts, rails and such, as well as cannons and half barrels. Unlike the other ships in our line, these will be one-piece castings in a lightweight, high density foam, thus keeping the weight down for the length and width of the ships.

And for those looking for ships to go with the new Warhammer Historical pirate rules, you will find these new ships to be wonderful additions to your gaming table.

Remember to check out the other 15 or so ships we have in our ship lines that could be used with your pirate and naval games!
