Three events related to the 1/300-scale ship line
The first event is to announce that the Merrimack/Old Glory Shipyard 1/300-scale ship range has been nominated for the Origins Best Historical Miniature Line of the Year, which is listed in the Origins Awards as - Birth of the Broadside Range (voting ends May 25th). The range has over 70 ships, covering The Spanish Armada; Napoleonic; and Early American Sail up to the War of 1812. The line also was awarded The Legion of Honor award at Cold Wars this year.
The second event is that at Historicon this year, David Manley and the Colorado Military Historians club will be running four games that feature actions between frigates and actions on the Great Lakes using the 1/300 Merrimack/Old Glory Shipyard ships. The games will also feature their new 1/300 rule supplement to their already fine rules, Fighting Instructions: Rules for Naval Combat in the Era of Sailing Ships.
The third event is a one-to-one scale game of Trafalgar using the 1/300 scale ships. This event will take place at the Eisenhower Inn, Gettysburg, PA, on November 9-10. The event will commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the battle. Merrimack/Old Glory Shipyard will be providing prizes for this event.
