You know, Elmo is old enough to remember THE bicentennial (1976) and I was struck about the amount of time that has elapsed and the war of 1812 bicentennial isn't here yet.

Doesn't school make it seem like less than a week went by?

Oh, and I'm sure the product is nice too BUT more than a week would go by before I got it painted (like the 1812 tricentennial?)

All the King's Men is pleased to announce the launch of Napoleonic Royal Marine Artillery, and War of 1812 U.S. Light Artillery. These 54mm sets are cast in metal, and are $30 USD. Each includes four crew, two command, and an artillery piece. They come unpainted, and are intended for wargaming and collecting.
