Haywire Modern

This free 20-page quickstart is an introduction to Haywire Modern, a fast-paced, class-based, tactical skirmish game set in the modern day. This quickstart represents a heavily simplified version of the game, allowing players to get an idea of the core solo gameplay mechanics. The full game also includes campaign, co-op, and PVP rules.

Haywire Modern is an asymmetric game in which players control an assaulting team who are aware of the enemy presence. The player's team is generally a small but well-trained force.

On the opposing side, the AI-controlled opponent referred to as the OPFOR (OPposing FORce) is considered the defending team and is initially unaware of the assaulting team's presence. In most cases, the enemy faction is less well-trained than the assaulting team but also more numerous. The OPFOR miniatures are controlled by some basic movement until the alert is raised, then a set of rules for each class will dictate their behavior.
