Major developments are just around the corner for all Beyond the Gates of Antares players with the imminent arrival of the first supplement book – The Battle for Xilos.
Battle for Xilos Campaign Supplement
Once again penned by game author Rick Priestley, the supplement continues the events from the main rulebook – triggered by the discovery of the planet of Xilos.
The book describes the war for control of the planet and the ancient builder tech hidden beneath its surface, and explains how to play a campaign to fight out the conflict. Detailed scenarios cover the different stages of the conflict, from the initial landings to… well, we'll come onto that… with a cool system for gathering campaign victory points and fielding some of the strange builder tech artefacts that your forces will capture along the way!
The Battle for Xilos also includes rules for including allies and mercenaries in your force as well as new army lists for the Ghar Outcast Rebels, Freeborn Adventurers and Boromite Clans, not to mention a host of special characters, new weapons and vehicles and some rather scary native creatures.
It's no exaggeration to say that this will take the Antares universe to a whole new level!
And that's not all…
Summer Online Campaign
In conjunction with the release of the new book, there will be a massive multi-player online campaign where you can post the results of your tabletop battles and try to affect the overall course of the war.
And the most exciting thing is – the outcome of the online campaign will be written into the history of the universe and become part of the official history. So this really is a chance to make your mark!
Every Antares player can join in, whatever your army – when the campaign starts you'll sign up by registering your faction and coming up with a name for your force. After that, you'll just need to play loads of battles and report back!
We'll bring you more details of exactly how it will work nearer the time – for the moment, we wanted to let you know that the book and the campaign are on their way, so you can recruit your armies and prepare for battle.
