I too would rather have them unpainted, especially if it lowers the price, and it would be expensive to build a whole trench system for a WW1 game.

Michael Tiskus of TerranScapes writes:

The modular trench set is designed to create a flexible realistic trench environment for 28-30mm miniatures. Each resin-and-foam-cast piece comes completely painted, ready for play.

Trenches with AT-43 models

Trench sections have a gradual slope, allowing attacking models to approach the trench lip; and separate firing platforms are included to provide positions for defenders to return fire. Six different shapes of pieces allow for varied layouts and trench widths. A video is also provided that discusses the systems design and use.

The deluxe set includes 14 trench sections and 12 firing platforms, and retails for $157 USD.
