I used to undercoat mine in turps diluted enamel but now I use Pain VJ black and paint it brown when that's dried
Top stuff, doesn't bend like some softer metals – a must for Pike I reckon

I've had these available for a few years, but I don't think I've ever shared the news with TMP!

New photos from the latest member of the North Star team, Kev Dallimore, have prompted me to spread the news with you guys.

North Star wire spears are made of copper-coated steel. They are very strong, but workable with a good pair of clippers. They all come to an extremely sharp point, as the palms and sides of my hands can testify to. Two types of spears have one end fashioned into a spearhead, the third is just to a point. The spears are packed in 40s for £5.00 GBP.

NSS101. This spear is 50mm long and .8mm in diameter. One end is fashioned to a spearhead. This spear fits into the hands of 15mm figures. It is also very useable as a more 'realistic'-sized spear for 28mm figures, and used as a javelin you can fit two into one hand of a skirmisher.

NSS102

NSS102. This is our most popular spear. It is 100mm long and 1mm in diameter. The thicker size makes it a 28mm figure spear. We call it a spear, but of course it is really a pike.It can be cut down to any size to make anything from a short javelin to full-size pike.

NSS103

NSS103. The third spear is 100mm long and 1mm in diameter. This spear comes to a point rather than a spearhead. It can be used for lances/pikes/flagpoles that come to a spike rather than spearhead.

We have such a very wide distribution for these spears, it would take too long to list all the stockists. If you have never bought some, I'd recommend you have a look at them. I hope some satisfied customers will post here to testify that they are a great product.
