Thanks Steve, although I mostly came up with a couple of overcomplicated suggestions that you and Ivan turned into something workable and that could be fitted on a page! ;-)

At long last, Fast And Dirty 4 is here!

Fast and Dirty 4

FAD is a set of generic sci-fi and near-future wargame rules, aimed at providing a quick game with an eye towards "realism."

It'll work with any existing miniatures you have, and provides a wealth of options to customize your game and armies.

What's new in 4th edition?

Well, we didn't want to change the core of the game. People overwhelmingly thought that the rules were good. The point was to expand it and make a claim to the "most complete sci-fi game on the market" title.

Here's what's new in 4th edition:

Campaign rules.
Scenario system that factors in your army's stance, aggression and the importance of pre battle scouting
Points cost formula
An intriguing "force priority" system to generate random forces. Pick your parameters and the system will generate a force that matches those choices.
Opportunity fire to control and deny ground
A number of new traits to further customize your units
Rules for demolitions and psionics
A task system suitable for any non-combat actions like hacking, repairing and negotiating.
Vehicle morale
Vehicles further have been reorganized and integrated into the main rules
Hidden movement, scouting, and minefields
And much more.

Almost most importantly, we have a lot of new killer artwork, giving you a game that not only plays smooth but looks very slick as well.

I firmly believe that FAD4 will stand as the undisputed king of the free wargames hill, and is a serious contender to any commercial system out there.

Best of all, it is, and will remain, free to the public, for your downloading pleasure.
