After months of brawls in dockside bars, escapes from headhunters and a lot of bad whiskey, the Astounding Tales! team (which is a lot like Doc Savage’s crew, but without the ripped clothing) have hammered out a much expanded second edition of Astounding Tales! (official rules of the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair).
Keeping the basic rules simple enough to allow fast, cinematic action, we’ve added:
- The Amazing Wizzo Card Sequence, for those who want a more formal turn sequence
- A more detailed character creation system, with special traits for Comic Sidekicks and Femmes Fatales. New Skills and characters.
- Rules for things like traps, zombies, robots and snipers. Airships. Planes. Hypnotism. Two scenarios you can play straight out of the book – 'The Bride of the Yeti’ and 'Biggles defies the Swastika’.
- Crazy stuff to create insane Pulp adventure titles.
Grown to twice the original length and almost busting out of its jacket, AT2 is being pasted up by a team of trained chimps under the amazing mind-control of Patrick Wilson, Mastermind behind The Virtual Armchair General. Then a massive print operation concealed beneath a tropical island will roll out the first 10,000 copies. And then it will be on newsstands throughout the world, alongside Black Mask, Weird Tales, and Dime Detective.
A limited subscription scheme will offer Pulpsters the chance be the first on their block to own AT2 at an astounding introductory price.
